Strategy: a planned series of actions to achieve something
Procurement: pre-planned shopping, collecting.
Strategic procurement is not the day-to-day purchase of services and goods. Strategic sourcing is the opposite: it is a systematic process designed to plan, manage and develop an organisation's supplier base, taking into account the strategic objectives of the company. This process is based on a thorough knowledge of the product and service categories, takes into account the intended use and also analyses in detail the specificities of the supplier market in order to identify the break-out points.
