The UK government has decided to appoint Chief Procurement Officers (CPOs) in key government departments and agencies to improve procurement, following a proposal by former Deputy Prime Minister Lord Heseltine. It was also decided that the reporting lines of departmental procurement managers to the Government's Director of Procurement would be tightened. Source: Supply Management
